Lyd.

I'm Lydia. I'm a believer in Jesus Christ and I try to love Him the best I can. I doubt, and am in a constant pursuit of refining my beliefs to be in line with the truth. This blog is kind of about that, as well as anything I find interesting, funny, or in any way worth my time. Talk to me!

"And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD."
~Hosea 2:19-20~

God likes to show me his grace through school.

I’m taking this online math course (get it knocked out of the way before I go off to “real school”) and after a really busy day I get home from church late and realize I have to submit a test tonight. Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a dumb girl, but I’m not the academic type either. And I feel sick and tired already and I feel like I’m going to screw it up. My mom and I pray together about it, that my mind will be clear and I can gather my thoughts and what-not. I got a 100%! I don’t deserve any of his blessings, but for some strange reason God wants to help us in the little things. Nothing is too small. NOTHING.

He is so good!

Hebrews 13:3

“Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”

So maybe it’s just me, but whenever politics comes up in a conversation, it just sets me on edge and it makes me feel stressed out.  And sometimes, the only insights on the matter I want to hear are the ones from God’s word. I’ve browsed the proverbs and  thought I’d share a few :)

“Roughin’ it”

The other day, I got locked out of the house, and my mom wasn’t going to be home for a couple hours. So I had to chill out in my back yard. It was a beautiful day, I had snacks and a book with me, and the garage was open so I could ride my bike, too!

But you know, like every good American, I gotta be like..

And it just got me thinking about the fact that my homless brothers in Christ live outside everyday without the luxury of a beautiful day and endless snacks, and it just reminded me to get over myself and serve them more.

And that’s all I have to say.

On January 31, Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced they were withdrawing funding to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. Let them know they made the right decision. Share this and encourage others to do the same!
